Obituary of Mildred L. Freda

Mildred L. Freda, an independent woman who had a great devotion to her family passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2023.  She was 81 years old.  Mildred was one of seven children born to Patrick and Mary Lisacki.  She was raised in Woburn.  She met her future husband, Anthony Freda, a Somerville boy, who was cruising through Woburn center and noticed her.  A romance ensued and they were married in 1962.  They had two children and raised in Woburn with a brief 3 years in Burlington.  In her 70’s she moved in Pepperell to be closer to her daughter and family, and for the past year when her health declined, she moved in with her son and his family in Burlington.  Along with raising her family and running the household, she worked full time in the electronics industry as a Quality Control inspector.  She had worked at Alpha Industries, MACOM, Solid State Engineering, and Safecor.  She was extremely knowledgeable in her field, able to read blueprints, and well respected and liked by her colleagues.  After her retirement, she found she was bored, she said she could only clean so much, so she went to work full time at Market Basket in Nashua New Hampshire.  It got her out of the house, gave her a social outlet, and gave her purpose.  She finally retired at the age of 80.

Mildred was a woman devoted to her family.  She and her loving husband Tony shared over 50 years together as husband and wife.  She was a caring and supportive mother and mother-in-law to her children and their spouses.  She cherished the time spent with them, hosting Sunday dinners, shopping together, going out to eat, and just having fun together.  She loved her role as “Nana” to her four grandchildren.  When they visited there were no rules.  If they wanted ice cream or cake for breakfast, they could have it.  When she moved to Pepperell, her granddaughter had many sleepovers at Nanas and her grandson got to spend a lot of time with her. When she moved to Burlington her grandsons would take her to do errands when she stopped driving. They would spend time sitting with her, joking and laughing.  Her family will always remember her innocent sense of humor, the kindness, devotion, friendship, and the love she shared with them all.  She will always hold a special place in the hearts of those she loved.

Mildred was the beloved wife of the late Anthony Freda.  She was the devoted and supportive mother and mother-in-law of Anthony Freda, Jr. and his wife Leanne of Burlington, and her daughter Christine Reslow & her husband John of Pepperell.  She was the loving “Nana” to Anthony Freda III, Domenic Freda, Maddie Reslow, and Matthew Reslow.  She was the loving sister of Sandra Frey & her husband Kevin of Woburn, Anthony Lisacki & his wife Colleen of Methuen, the late Mary Pysczynski, late Patricia Meeker & her late husband Donald, late Samuel Lisacki and late Patrick Lisacki, and a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn Street, Burlington on Wednesday, November 29 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. A funeral service at the funeral home will begin at 11:30 a.m.  Services will conclude with a burial at Woodbrook Cemetery in Woburn.  For online guestbook and video tribute see www.sullivanfuneralhome.net
