Obituary of Charlotte E. Jones

Charlotte E. Jones, a resident of Burlington for 66 years passed on Wednesday, November 29, 2023.  She was 88 years old.  Charlotte was born in Palmer, Massachusetts.  She was one of three daughters born to Frederic and Lidia Beck.  She grew up and was educated in Southbridge.  Growing up she was a member of the Rainbow Girls.  She was a 1952 graduate of St. Mary E. Wells High School in Southbridge.  She furthered her education at Nasson College in Springvale, ME.  She married her husband, Ernest, in 1957 and then settled in Ernest’s childhood town of Burlington.  They lived in a modest home for a number of years while Ernest built their forever home on the neighboring piece of property.  She worked as a technician at RCA and Lasertron both located in Burlington most of her career.  She was a loving and caring wife and a devoted mother to her four children.  She enjoyed keeping many Swedish traditions that she learned from her parents growing up.  In her leisure time she enjoyed making jewelry and doing embroidery and needlepoint.  She was a bit of a homebody but did take a trip to visit the National Parks.  She will be remembered quick sense of humor and the devotion for her family.

Charlotte was the beloved wife of the late Ernest Frank Jones.  She was the loving mother of Sharon Jones of Tucson, AZ, Karen Jones of Burlington, Mark Jones of Nashua, NH, and the late Clifton Jones.  Sister of the late Cynthia Gay and Norma Shields.
