Donald Gedick Obituary

Donald P. Gedick of Burlington passed away February 14 after a long illness.  He was the husband of Marilyn (Dumas) Gedick.

Born in Somerville, he was the son of the late William and Bridget Agnes (Golden) Gedick.

He was a graduate of Somerville High School and served in the U.S.Army Reserves.

Donald worked as a plumber his entire career.  He worked with his family at William Gedick & Sons Plumbing & Heating for many years and later founded Gedick Brothers Plumbing & Heating, Inc. with his late brother William “Brother” Gedick. Gedick Brothers Plumbing & Heating, Inc is presently operated by his sons, Donald and Paul Gedick with their sons, Christopher, Ryan, and Sean Gedick all of Burlington.  Donald had a strong work ethic and treated everyone as he would like to be treated, which lead to many loyal customers.

Donald was very active in the community of Burlington. He coached and supported Little League baseball and hockey over the years and was a 4th Degree member of the Burlington K of C council. Donald’s entire life evolved around his family.  He was always there for the grandchildren and was “the best baby sitter.”  Everything would stop for the grandchildren. He had a great love for animals, especially his dogs, Molly & Gigi and granddogs, Chewy, Lacey, and the late beloved Zoe.

Donald was the beloved husband of Marilyn (Dumas) Gedick of Burlington for 58 years. Donald and Marilyn enjoyed many wonderful vacations to Aruba and the Cape. He was totally devoted to his wife, children, and grandchildren.  He was the loving father of Michelle McCudden and her husband, Stephen, of Londonderry, NH, Donald W. Gedick and his wife Michelle of Burlington, and Paul V. Gedick and his wife Lisa, also of Burlington.  He was the proud grandfather to eight grandchildren, Meghan, Katie, and Jack McCudden of Londonderry, NH, Christopher, Emma, and Ryan Gedick of Burlington, and Sean and Mari Gedick of Burlington. He is survived by Vincent and Donna Dumas of Sun City, FL and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was predeceased by Claire and Domenic Tracey of Woburn, Robert and Rosalie Gedick of Burlington, William F. “Brother” and Marcia Gedick of Burlington, Richard and MaryLou Gedick of Maynard.  He was the stepson of the late Margaret (Noyes) Gedick of Stoneham and the stepbrother of the late Elwood “Al” Noyes and his wife Joan of Burlington.
