Obituary of Julia T. Manoukian

Julia Manoukian, age 96, passed away peacefully on February 15th 2024 at Winchester Nursing. Born on August 26, 1927 in Watertown MA to Sophie and Jacob Paloian. She was a proud Armenian. Julia married James K Manoukian on May 26th 1957. She worked for Raytheon for years, where she retired from.  She contributed to the assembly of the Patriot Missile Project. Her ingenuity led to the design of a magnetic device that significantly enhanced production efficiency earning her recognition and an award from the company’s president. She also received her hairdressing license in midlife, something Julia always dreamed of. Her proudest and most fulfilling role was that of a mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her love of family was always first.

Julia was the beloved wife of the late James Manoukian Sr. She was the loving mother of Dianne Merritt and her late husband Willard of Burlington, John Manoukian and his wife Kathleen of Tewksbury, and James Manoukian Jr. and his wife Lisa of Hudson, NH. She was the proud grandmother of Tracey Lynn Merritt of Burlington, Jacqueline Marklis and her husband Jeffrey of Billerica, and Matthew John Manoukian of Tewksbury. Julia treasured her role as great-grandmother to Maxwell and Tyler. She was the caring sister to her late siblings, Neva Konian and Ann Kirk.
