Obituary of Maura A Lowe
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Maura A. (McLaughlin) Lowe, 63, a life-long resident of Burlington. Maura passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at Lahey Hospital, after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family.
Maura was a 1978 graduate of Burlington High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Suffolk University and went on to become a paralegal, working as a Contracts Manager for companies such as iRobot, Iron Mountain, KEMA, and most recently Partners Healthcare/Mass General. She also enjoyed working as a local realtor.
Maura loved to laugh and have fun. Her biggest pleasure was spending time with family and friends around the pool or around the table. She excelled at entertaining and organizing family gatherings, always making us laugh. Maura loved to watch reruns of “I Love Lucy,” shop, listen to music, dance, and travel. Some of her favorite places to be were in the kitchen - cooking, in the pool - swimming, or in the car - exploring the backroads of New England. She was a devoted Auntie to her nieces and nephews, spending time with them while shopping, during sleepovers and having fun outside or by the pool. She was a very generous and kind person to all, including many charities.
Maura was born in Woburn to Maureen A. (McNamara) McLaughlin and the late Robert F. McLaughlin. In addition to her mother, she leaves behind by her high-school sweetheart and loving husband of 34 years, James “Jimmy” Lowe of Burlington, sisters - Sharon Murray and Roberta McLaughlin of Burlington, brother - Daniel McLaughlin of Indiana, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
