Obituary of Mary LaMarca

Mary LaMarca, a woman who dedicated her life to her family, passed away after a long illness at the Blaire House in Tewksbury surrounded by family on Monday afternoon, November 13, 2006. She was 93 years old. Mrs. LaMarca was born in New York City, the daughter of Italian immigrants, the late John and Theresa Cioffi. She grew up and had resided in East Boston for almost 60 years. She moved to Burlington in 1972 to be closer to her daughters. Mrs. LaMarca’s life was centered on her family. She was not a member of clubs or organizations, but rather relished the simple things in her life like laughing with her family or the birth of another grandchild or great grandchild. She was always happiest when she was surrounded by her family sharing special occasions, holiday, a family dinner, or any other family moment. She was an exceptional cook. Her meatballs and Easter pie’s were her specialties. Mrs. LaMarca enjoyed taking her grandchildren to the movies and out to lunch or dinner. She took great pride in the accomplishments of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She will always have a special place in the hearts of all her family. Mrs. LaMarca is the beloved wife of Alfred LaMarca. She is the loving mother of Alfonse & his wife Annette of Revere, Mary Riccio of Tewksbury & her late husband Dante, and Janice Travaglini & her husband John of Plaistow, NH. She is the sister of Dorothy & her husband Alex Merola of Winthrop, the late Angie DiGrigorio, Joseph, James, Dewey, John, and Dante Cioffi. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON, (exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Thursday, Nov. 16 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. Interment in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Roslindale. Memorials in Mary’s name may be made to Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack St., Bldg. 9, Lawrence, MA 01843.
