Genevieve Ann Morandi Obituary

3-31-32 - 3-6-24

Genevieve “Jen” Ann Zaffina Morandi’s story could be summed up with these few words, “Loving Mother and Wife.”

She passed away peacefully at home with her children by her side, on March 6, 2024 at the age of 91. Jen was born, raised, and lived her entire life in the family home in Winchester, with her parents Frank and Amelia. She attended Winchester High School and was a part of the Immaculate Conception drum and bugle corps. She met her husband, Angelo Morandi at the age of 15 at the First National grocery store.

After they married in 1953, they welcomed their 5 children: Elizabeth, Deborah, Joseph, Cheryl, and Katherine. Jen and Angelo were avid travelers. When their children were young, camping was a big part of their life, visiting historic landmarks across the country.

Jen loved entertaining family and friends. Cooking was a large passion of hers. She was the ultimate hostess. She was a devoted Catholic woman who never wavered from her faith. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were incredibly special to her. She loved when any of the 20 were visiting.

For more than 50 years, Jen enjoyed her career as an AVON representative, winning countless awards for her sales and leadership performance.

Jen was the beloved wife of Angelo. She was the loving mother to Betty Bonish and her husband Michael of Alva, Florida, Deborah LaFlamme and her late husband Robert of Woburn, Joseph Morandi of Burlington, Cheryl Morandi of Attleboro, and Kathy Doherty and her husband Brian of Woburn. She was the proud grandmother to Michael Bonish and his wife Kristen of Woburn, Christina Makinen and her husband William of Woburn, Mark Bonish of Woburn, Robert LaFlamme of Woburn, Jacqueline Duren and her husband Samir of Dracut, Joseph LaFlamme and Kelly of Woburn, Jennifer Seaver and Nicholas of Attleboro, Stephen Ort and Julia of Haverhill, Brittney Ort and Logan of Bloomington, Illinois, Brianna Doherty of Woburn, and Dillan Doherty of Woburn. She treasured her role as Great-Grandmother to Ava, Sydney, and Taylor Makinen, Avery and Morgan Bonish, Capri and Sienna Duren, and Lincoln and Amelia Dorrance. Jen was the caring sister of the late Elizabeth Eade, Louise Poste, and Joseph, Frank, and John Zaffina.
