Obituary of Angelina Cosman
Angelina (Sellito) Cosman, a resident of Burlington for the past 65 years, passed away after an extended illness on Tuesday night, March 12, 2024. She was 96 years old. Angelina was born and raised in Everett. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Lousia (Mazzone) Sellito. Sadly, her mom passed when Angelina was seven years old, after which she went to live with her uncle and aunt, Carmelo and Maria (Sellito) Covino and her six cousins, Josephine, Sam, Anne, Agnes, Mario and Robert. While working at Converse shoes, she met World War II veteran Alfred Cosman, and they were married on October 11, 1952. They settled in Burlington in 1959 in one of the first houses to be built on the street. She considered herself to be blessed to have wonderful neighbors who became lifelong friends.
Angelina and Alfred loved to go ballroom dancing. They also traveled across Europe and to other exotic destinations. They would walk at the mall regularly. In her later years, Angelina enjoyed going to the Burlington Senior Center for Tai Chi and other classes. She was a regular at Bickford’s and the Chateau. She loved Burlington and was happy driving around town, and doing her errands at Town Hall in person.
Angelina was predeceased by her husband Alfred in 2014. They were married for 61 wonderful years. They did not have children, but had loving and supportive siblings, in-laws, nieces and nephews, and cousins whom they adored. Angelina was predeceased by her brother Carmen Sellito and her cousins Josephine Mutti, Sam Covino, Agnes Commito and Mario Covino. She is survived by her cousins Robert Covino of Naples Florida and Anne Covino-Goldenberg of Belmont. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and second cousins, including Francesco Mutti, Lisa Wheeler, Sam Covino Jr., Lora Goldenberg, Lisa Stoppato, John Commito, David Commito, Robert Commito, Connie Braithwaite, James Covino, Elizabeth Covino Serrano, Cynthia Gatti, Mario Covino Jr., Leah DiBenedetto, Rachel Ventresca, Maria Simonetti, Christina Eckert and Diana Headrick.
A visiting hour will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home on Friday, March 15 from 11am to Noon. A funeral service will be at the funeral home starting at Noon. Services will conclude with Angelina being laid to rest with her husband, Alfred, at Pine Haven Cemetery in Burlington.
