In Loving Memory of Sharon Tremblay Wetzel

Tewksbury, MA

Sharon Tremblay Wetzel passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, March 26, 2024.

She dedicated her life to her faith, family, and community, leaving behind a remarkable impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her.  Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Edward Wheeler and Veta Margaret (Jones) Wheeler as well as her brother, Frederick Wheeler. She is survived by her two sisters, Dorene Walters and LaRee Barker both of Ogden, Utah.

Sharon was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for all her life.  She found solace and strength in her faith.  She grew up in Plain City, Utah graduating from Weber High School in 1954. She married John (Jack) E. Tremblay in 1955, where he was enlisted in the Air Force at Hill AFB, Utah and moved with him to Massachusetts. Sharon and Jack were blessed with five children; Sheila (Paul) Ingersoll of Chelmsford MA, Deborah (Glenn) Campbell of Pepperell MA, Kathleen (Mark) Bristol of Leesburg FL, Sandra Kelley of Tewksbury MA (partner Billy Saideh), and John (Theresa) Tremblay of Woburn MA. Sharon worked for Houghton Mifflin Publishing Co in Burlington, MA as a customer service representative, college division, for close to 20 years.

Sharon and Jack raised their family in Burlington, Massachusetts and enjoyed camping with their family in Cape Cod, Plum Island and Sandy Neck Beach. They were members of the Massachusetts Beach Buggy Assoc. (MBBA), Burlington bowling league and the Woburn Baldwin Apple Square Dance club.  Sharon was a Girl Scout and Boy Scout leader.  They enjoyed many holiday gatherings, spending time at their house on Long Lake in Harrison Maine making memories with the children and grandchildren. Jack and Sharon were married for 39 years until his passing in 1994.  Sharon’s most accomplished and cherished blessing was in 1995 when she sealed Jack, her first husband, in the Salt Lake City Utah Temple for time and all eternity so they will always be together forever.

Sharon married Guy Wetzel in 1997 whom she met in St George Utah.  They were very active with the LDS church. Together they completed a church mission in Nauvoo, Illinois 2002-2003 and served the St George Temple as ordinance workers for 12 years.  She spent many hours researching and documenting genealogy.  Sharon was a 20 year member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.  Sharon and Guy shared 26 years of marriage until his passing in 2023. Sharon is survived by Guy’s children:   Danton (Susan) Wetzel, Kayleen (Joe) Hadley, Raean (Jon) Banks, Jim Wetzel, and Leslie (Dennis) Banks.

Sharon is also survived by many friends, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought immeasurable joy and pride to her heart.

Sharon was an accomplished crafter who loved scrapbooking, quilting, sewing, ceramics, crocheting and knitting. She loved making handmade creations for her family that will forever be cherished as a testament to her love and creativity.  Many precious baby and bed quilts are a treasured item by many family members.  In 2022 she made 139 fleece blankets for all of her and Guy’s children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She was a constant contributor for humanitarian projects.

Those who were fortunate enough to know Sharon will remember her for her warm smile, laughter, kind heart, and unwavering love. She possessed a gentle spirit and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
