Obituary of Sandra A Wilkie
Sandra Ann Wilkie, a retired hairdresser and administrator passed away peacefully with her sister at her bedside on Friday, March 29, 2024, at Lowell General Hospital. She was 76 years old. Sandy was born and raised in Tewksbury. She was one of two daughters born to Samuel and Thelma Wilkie. She graduated from Tewksbury High School, Class of 1967, then went to beauty school to study cosmetology.
Sandy worked as a hairdresser in Billerica for over 15 years. She was an excellent hairdresser and had a wonderful rapport with all her customers. Sandy was their stylist, confident, and sometimes therapist. She moved out to Hollywood, Florida to be closer to her only sister, Judi. She worked at the Hollywood Medical Center as a Human Resources Director. She loved the time spent with her sister, but for Sandy, Florida was too darn hot! She then moved out to Atlanta, Georgia to work at Page & Associates as an administrator. Sandy worked for 15 years at a financial/viatical company, but eventually returned to Tewksbury to care for her mother.
Sandy was a wonderful care giver and kept her promise to her mom that she be able remain in her home until her passing. She happily babysat her friends’ children so they could work. She would do anything for a family member or friend who needed a helping hand. She was loving and caring and much preferred being the giver rather than the receiver. Sandy approached her illness much like she lived her life worrying not about herself but the others around her. She will be lovingly remembered for the kindness and love she shared with family and friends.
Sandy was the beloved daughter of the late Samuel and Thelma Marie (LeBlanc) Wilkie. She was the beloved sister of Judi (Wilkie) Clark & her late husband Wayne of Boynton Beach, FL. She was the best friend to Lisa and Tom Madore and their children Shelby, Samantha, and late Tommy Madore, and Sandra & Wes Tietjen, their mom, Millie Allen, and children Ryan and Olivia Tietjen.
