Obituary of Bernadette Moran

Bernadette Mary (Gallagher) Moran passed away after an extended illness at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington on Tuesday afternoon, June 25, 2013. She was 79 years old. Bernadette was born in Brighton, the daughter of the late Timothy and Mildred Gallagher. She grew up in Somerville and was a graduate of Somerville High School. She married Harold Moran and they settled in Burlington in 1957. She had worked as an assembler for 15 years at Raytheon in Waltham and Quincy. Her foremost career was that of being a “Mom”. Bernadette had 9 children, 23 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. Her home was always bustling with activity and commotion. A family of that size had many unique joys and challenges. Cooking, washing, shopping, cleaning, chauffeuring to practices and activities, as well as keeping all 9 children in line and on schedule was an arduous task, but one she happily accepted. She loved the holidays and the many Moran family gatherings and celebrations. It gave her great joy to become a grandmother and then a great grandmother. Her legacy will be her family. Bernadette was the beloved wife of the late Harold L. Moran. She was the loving mother of Karen Moran Smith and Bernadette Connerty & her husband Kenneth of Nashua, NH, Mark Moran & his wife Sandra of Salem, NH, Lori Moran of Watertown, Francis “Buddy” Moran & his wife Stacey of Merrimack, NH, Robert Moran & his wife Cathy, William Moran, Michael Moran, and Lisa Rigoli & her husband John all of Burlington. She was the sister of Frances Faletra of Saugus and Nancy Capoziello of Franklin Square, NY. She was also survived by 23 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (exit 34 off Rt. 128/95, Woburn side) on Friday, June 28 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Thursday from 4-8 p.m. Interment in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Burlington.
