Sandra was the oldest of the five older cousins: Sandra, Susan (sparrow) Stephen, Marc and me, Joyce. We were very close as we our parents were related--brother and sister married a brother and sister. We spent many great times together at our grandparents house. Sandra, being the first grandchild, was a favorite of our grandmother Lucy. Lucy took Sandra on her frequent trips to the North End.
My father Nick was instrumental in getting Jack and Sandra together--he approved of Jack which made things smoother at home as Aunt Jean was very strict. I remember their wedding reception at the Moose Hall in Malden, I was only 9 at the time but remember it well. Sandra had 4 beautiful children very young, and my mother would vist her in Medford and help her out every few weeks. My Mother Anne and Sandra were very closee also and would talk on the phone a lot, exchange receipes and other important topics. My mother used to buy new shoes and send them to Sandra to "break in" for a few weeks and then send them back as they wore the same size.
Sandra was quieter than her sister Susan and would cover for Susan when Susan came home late. We all loved Sandra and I could go on but I hope she is at peace now with her beloved husband Jack, son Kevin and daughter Denise--all who died too young.
Sandra, Elvis has left the building.
Love, Joyce

Sandra we known each other for many many years. We’ve been friends through the hard times and the good times you had stood by me every time I needed you I could tell you my deepest secrets when I was sad you cheered me up. I’ll never meet another friend as good as you. We talked to each other every day for hours. My heart is broken. I will miss you forever. I love you, Sandra Mckenna.
