Sue, I am so very sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. It was no surprise to learn of his accomplishments and the beautiful life you shared. I dug out my High School yearbook and sure enough, Jim was voted “Most likely to succeed “ He certainly did that! Heartfelt sympathy to you and your family. Cherish the memories.

I was very sad to learn of Jim’s passing and offer condolences to Sue and the rest of Jim’s family. Unfortunately, I was unable to attend the memorial service. Jim and I along with Sue and Diane interacted with each other since our Cornell days. He was without a doubt one of the most talented engineers at CDMSmith and it was a pleasure to work with him. He also had a profound sense of humor – and he was a “pack rat”. I remember years ago searching for a textbook of mine which I needed to prepare for the Professional Engineer Exam. After searching high and low, I asked Jim if he had it and he calmly said “Yes”. I sarcastically asked - “Do you mind if I borrow it”. Jim responded with his dry sense of humor - “How long do you need it”.
Rest in peace, Jim. You left the world in a better place.

Jim and I have been friends since grade school in Spencer, I helped at the farm during haying season. We played baseball in the Spencer Little League, Babe Ruth, and David Prouty High School. In early January when the hay in the barn began to thin out we would play basketball in the hay loft, there would often be 8 to 10 of us playing some serious pick up basketball. My wife and I went on many "double dates" with Jim and Sue during our high school years with Dino's in Worcester being one of our favorites.
We continued our "double dates" in the later years by going on cruises together and going out to eat once or twice a month. I will always remember and cherish the good times we had with Jim and Sue and consider it a real honor to have been friends with such a nice guy.
We will miss you Jim!

Jim was my manager at CDM Smith for several years. It was under him that I received my first leadership position as a group leader and really found my calling helping staff grow and build careers as he did. He was always accessible and willing to listen, like to problem solve and I really appreciate the time he spent helping me grow as a leader. Very sorry for your loss. Glenn Howard

I worked with Jim at CDM for almost 20 years. He was always friendly, had a smile, was always patient, answering questions or asking for information. He was one of the best engineers I ever worked with in the industry.
Condolenses to his family.

I met Jim in 1971 at CDM and we became and remained friends for 53 years. Sue and Jim were part of my family and Donna and I traveled everywhere with them. I spent time with Jim at CDM, with Sue and Donna socially for 50+ years, and one on one, our personal time, over a beer of coffee. Jim was a great engineer, a great husband, a great father and a great friend and always will be. He and Donna can spend time together now talking about me and Sue.
Smile, Be Happy, Love!!
YOU Are, and Will Always Be LOVED!!!!
Jim and Donna
