Obituary of Marc A. Beaudette

Marc A. Beaudette, a business owner, car enthusiast, and friend to many passed away after a long illness on Saturday morning, July 6, 2024.  He was 68 years old.  Marc was born in Lewiston, Maine and was one of seven children born to Richard and Constance Beaudette.  He and his siblings grew up in a modest home in Tewksbury that was bursting at the seams   with children and their friends.  It was a home filled with laughter, fun, cooperation, and love.  Camping was the most practical and favorite way of vacationing with such a large family.  All seven children and 2 adults would pack into a station wagon with camper in tow.    Maine was often  the local camping destination, but they went as far South as Florida, as far North as Canada and West to Yellow Stone National Park.  Some of those vacations lasted as long as five weeks.  It was a past time he would later share with his three sons as they grew up.  Marc was a 1974 graduate of Austin Preparatory High School and then went on to attend the University of Lowell and Northeastern University.  When Marc was 21 years old, he was diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma.  He successfully beat the cancer but lived with the side effects of the treatment for the rest of his life. 

Marc worked alongside his father and mother, and then on his own after their retirement from the family business, Taylor Rental, in Brockton.  He had a great rapport with his customers, was always happy to give them extra time to guide them on what equipment they needed and how to use it properly and safely.  He was well respected and much appreciated by those who regularly visited his store.  Marc ended his career working for almost 20 years as a self-employed lead paint inspector.  His company, Accu-Fordable  Lead Paint Inspection, serviced clients all over Massachusetts.  The effects of his declining health forced his retirement two years ago. 

From a very early age, Marc had a love affair with cars. His first car was an AMC Rambler   which he learned to work on.  Over the years, he bought, restored and sold countless classic and antique cars.  He owned a 1969 Ford Fairlane, with homemade matching trailer, a 1969 Ford Ranchero, a 2008 Mustang, a 1966 6^th generation Ford F100 Pick-up, a 1961 Corvair Rampside pick-up, a Volkswagen Bus that he converted to a camper, and his most prized possession a 1955 red Ford Thunderbird that he enjoyed for many years.  He would find cars all over the country.  His garage was set up with a lift and had all the tools needed to restore a vehicle.  He did all the bodywork, engine repairs, electrical, and anything else needed until he was fully satisfied in a job well done.  Once done, he would enjoy the fruits of his hard work and move on to his next restoration.  He was so accomplished that he actually spent several years working with owners to find the right buyers for their restored classic cars.   Throughout the years, he belonged to numerous car clubs and loved going to car shows. 

Marc was extremely talented around his home as well.  He knew a little bit about everything and was very intuitive and could repair almost anything.  One of his projects included an entire kitchen makeover.  He did projects for friends and was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand. His siblings, nieces and nephews frequently called him for advice.

He later purchased a home on Bauneg Beg Lake in Maine that was in disrepair.  He spent several years fixing it up including an antique boat he purchased and enjoyed working on. Like many things, the restoration gave him more satisfaction than sitting on a deck enjoying the lake.  So, he sold the home and moved on to his next adventure.

Marc had a wonderful life following his passions, making special memories with those he loved, and sharing his talents with family and friends.  He was blessed to get almost fifty more years after beating cancer.  He lived his life the way he wanted to.  He will sadly be missed, but his memory will always bring a smile to those who knew and loved him.

Marc was the proud father of Matthew, Nicholas, and Christopher Beaudette all of Billerica.  He was the loving partner of Nancy Briss of Easton.  He was the brother of Michelle Hanley & her late husband Jack of Barnstead, NH, Lise Giordano & her husband Bob of Hampstead, NH, Joel Beaudette & his wife Margie of Merrimack, NH, Danielle Beaudette & her husband Will McGrath of Nashua, NH, Eric Beaudette & his wife Laurene of Lexington, MA, and Chris Beaudette & his wife Judy of Bothell, WA.  He was the son-in-law of Charlotte Briss of Sharon and brother-in-law of Susan Briss-Foley & Steve Foley of Denver, CO.  Marc was also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. 

A visiting hour will be held on Wednesday July 10 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. and will conclude with a service at the funeral home at 11:30 a.m.  Memorials in Marc’s name may be made to The American Heart Association.  For online guestbook, obituary, and video tribute see www.sullivanfuneralhome.net
