Obituary of Peter DePasquale

Peter DePasquale, 96, of Williamsport, PA, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, early Sunday morning, August 11, 2024. He was the husband of the late Rosemarie DePasquale who passed away January 29, 2024. He was the dedicated father of Rosanne Brennan of Bedford, MA, David DePasquale of Melrose, MA, and Carl DePasquale of Bakersfield, CA, and ever-present grandfather to Ruby Brennan of Bedford, Casey DePasquale of New York City, NY, and Peter DePasquale of Pittsburgh PA. Katie Rodella of Pittsburgh, mother of Casey and Peter, also mourns his loss.

Peter was born in Chicago, IL, the son of Italian immigrants Carl and Carmela (Provenzano) DePasquale. He was educated in Chicago and served in the Navy prior to meeting the love of his life Rosemarie Panaro, in Altoona, PA. Together they founded DePasquale Staffing Services, a testament to their shared entrepreneurial spirit. The duo worked side by side, cultivating success and joy in their business for many years.

Throughout their nearly seven decades of marriage, the couple explored the world from the landscapes of Italy, England, and Norway to the warmth of Hawaii and the vibrant cultures of Morocco and the Caribbean.

He was known for his strong will and unwavering determination, he stood firm in his decisions, yet, his humble nature and quiet demeanor made him a beloved figure to all who knew him. He had an uncanny ability to go with the flow, adapting to life’s challenges with a calm resilience that inspired those around him.

In his work life, he didn’t stray too far from his HR roots. As a Navy Veteran, he was tasked with processing the “boys coming home.” He found the best next steps for returning veterans, a skill set he used in industry and in ultimately founding a successful career placement service that he shared with his wife “Ro.”

Peter Paul DePasquale’s passion for the arts, particularly community theater, was a gift he shared with many. He poured his heart into writing and producing plays, first, for his church in Pennsylvania. His dedication as a behind the scenes guy developed over decades with his like-minded friends. They started by building a theater group, presenting plays wherever they could, until they raised enough funds to secure a sustainable location that still thrives today. His stories touched the souls of his fellow congregants and left a lasting impact on all who witnessed and enjoyed his work.

He was predeceased by his loving wife and siblings, Joseph, Sarah and Patricia. He is survived by his children, adoring grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his visiting hours on Thursday, August 29th from 4pm to 6pm at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St. Burlington. His funeral home service will follow the visitation starting at 6pm. Interment will be private and at the convenience of his family.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Williamsport Community Theater League, Susquehanna Health and Uptown Music Collective.

A Celebration of Life will be held for the couple in Williamsport, PA at a later date. Details will be forthcoming.
