My Condolences to the Casey/Sweeney Family. I was lucky enough to have crossed our paths in life together,we worked, golfed, shared many conversations together in the 35 years I was able to spend with Fred.Freddy loved planning, organizing and executing the “The Casy Codder” weekend every year because it was an insured weekend that he knew that he could get his friends and family together to really keep the friendships and bonds that he instilled into all of us that knew him.We had many Great times and Memories together that will never be forgotten Fred loved above all,his wife Kathy and his four wonderful children whom he has always loved and been very proud of them.Fred will be missed ALWAYS but NEVER FORGOTTEN by all of US — His Family,Friends,Coworkers and his Mail Customers from the west side.We have all had our own special memories and conversations with Fred. WE ALL LOVE YOU FRED,REST IN PEACE !! Until we meet again Love Chris “Whitey” Hertzog

To Freddie's Family, My sincere condolences. I was a childhood friend of Freddie. We played hockey together and shared a love of Boston team sports. Freddie was such a great guy and good friend. He was such an easy guy to like, very unassuming and sincere. and I know he is and will be greatly missed! I was truly blessed to have such a good friend as him!

Kathy, Kyleen, Brian, Kevin, Corey, and families; I’m so sorry to hear about Freddy’s passing. I’ve known Freddy for more than 50 years and had many, many fun times with him and our mutual friends. Bruins games, the Friend St 99 before and after, hockey and softball playing and just hanging out in earlier years. Fred was always a respectful gentleman and friend to the many people that were lucky to consider him a friend. The world has lost a tremendous man and he will be missed greatly. I hope your fun and fond memories ease the pain of this sad time for all of you. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this very sad time. RIP Freddy. Sincerely, Bob Connolly Jr.

Friend was not only a friend of mine for about 40 years, but my true brother. I can’t tell you all the things we’ve done together between Norris golf trips down the Cape, tournament we played in where I got my own hole in one, softball tournaments, I just had dinner together with our wives. We shared Bruins season tickets for over 10 years together. We Did so many shenanigans together there were too many to say in this small paragraph, I have not stopped crying since I said my goodbyes to you in your last few days at the hospital and I don’t think I will. Take care, my friend, I truly love you., Paul Bruno

Even though I worked at the PO in a different craft, with his strong judgement and wisdom I knew Fred was the one to rely on for advice. A true friend of my husband Ed for many years, I am grateful to have known him personally as well. Ed would share some stories (not all I'm sure) of the golf outings and shenanigans. This would always have us laughing even years later. We will miss you Freddie and will speak of you often. A very special, intelligent and genuinely kind man.

We always had a good laugh while working for the PO ether with my classic yell or playing Dominic the donkey over and over at Christmas time after I retired in 2017 I would visit him at star market in porter square and sometimes when I didn’t notice he was working he was throw produce at me lol. Rest in peace, my friend you will definitely be missed Godspeed

I started working at the Woburn post office exactly 2 weeks before Fred Casey. He started his postal career on September 28, 1985. Fred was actually before me but put off his starting date for the best reason of all. He was busy getting married to the love of his life Kathy Sweeney. we hit it off right away. I remember going to Fred‘s condo in Stoneham after work on Saturdays and watching college football. Through work and golf leagues we became best of friends. Fred made it a point to take me to a Bruins game every year and it was always a blast. Fred loved a good poor of Guinness and in later years
a sip or two of Jameson whiskey. Above all else, Fred loved his family. He adored his wife Kathy and often bragged about his four children. He was a devout Catholic and every Ash Wednesday showed up to work with fresh ashes on his forehead. No words can explain how much l’ll miss my pal Fred Casey.

Fred Casey was an incredibly kind and caring man who always had a smile when delivering our mail regardless of whether the sun was shining or it was pouring rain. He went out of his way to be accommodating and helpful. We will remember his graciousness.
