Obituary of Lisa Caramanis
Lisa Caramanis, 64, succumbed to a battle with cancer on August 28, 2024 to be with Jesus.
She was born to Paul Caramanis and Lillian (Doyle) Caramanis on September 21, 1959. She graduated from Burlington High School in 1977. In her younger years, Lisa's passion for horses led her to travel the country as she entered her beloved champion "Burnen Bey" in Arabian dressage competitions.
One of Lisa's proudest accomplishments was founding and running a construction cleaning company, Highly Recommended, with her life partner Bill Faulkner. She was revered by her clients, who respected her attention to detail and reliability. On the side, Lisa was a passionate inventor of two patented creations, the Buckle-Up Buddy and the Caramanis Coat Caddy.
Lisa fiercely loved all babies and children in her life, who gravitated toward her quirky, eccentric, bigger-than-life personality. She was a devoted and supportive "Yaya" to Lily, her pride and joy. In Lisa's final days, visits with her great niece Charlotte brought out her inner child.
Lisa's happy place was her home in Middleton, New Hampshire, where she hosted pool parties in the summer and toboggan parties in the winter. In her spare time, she loved to "putter around the yard" and tend her sprawling vegetable and flower gardens. Her other happy place was Prince Edward Island, Canada, where she was able to tap into her love of collecting roadside antiques and knickknacks at the annual 70-mile yard sale with her sister Linda.
Lisa was a devout follower of Jesus and loved attending the services at Middleton Gospel Chapel, where she cultivated a community of close friends. She believed in miracles and signs from Jesus. She was also an infamous prankster - so if you find the edges of your toilet paper folded, your radio mysteriously turns to "Spirit in the Sky," or an item is moved to an unusual place, know that Lisa is saying hello.
Lisa is predeceased by her father Paul Caramanis and her stepdaughter Jennifer Faulkner. She is survived by her husband Bill Faulkner, mother Lillian O'Malley, stepfather Bill O'Malley, siblings Linda Caramanis, Paul Caramanis, and John Caramanis, granddaughter Lily Bennett, niece Erica Oven and her husband Daniel Oven, and great niece Charlotte Oven. She leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and extended family members who loved her dearly.
A memorial service will be held at Middleton Gospel Chapel, 175 Kings Highway in Middleton, NH, 03887 on September 14th at 2 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Lisa's nameto her favorite charity, the March of Dimes.
