I am so sorry for the loss of Aunt Pat. She was a wonderful Godmother to me. When my mom and Pat visited over the 80 years of their friendship it was always a fun, loving time. Such memories. Hugs to the Gillis family.

Love you and miss you so much Nana. I will forever cherish our time together from MA to CA, and all our other travels between. While I have so many fond memories, our trip to Ireland will forever be one of the experiences I was so grateful to spend with you.

What a beautiful picture of a beautiful person. Have have so many memories of Mrs Gillis. She was the fastest moving, fastest talker I ever met. With 7 children, and working she had no time to waste. I remember sleeping over when I was a little girl and I would line up with Peggy and Tricia to get my hair brushed. I would wrap my arm around and waist and she would vigorously brush my hair. I often remember that moment and smile. She loved to laugh and a good joke. One of my best memories of Mrs Gillis, is when she was over my house visiting my mother and my grandmother. She was rushing into the room with a Gin and Tonic in her hand. She tripped and never spilled a drop from her glass. My grandmother, another Irish woman, laughed so hard, she said, 'Leave it to an Irish girl to not spill a drop'. I think they laughed for an hour after that. It set the tone for a night of laughter, which was always the case when Mrs Gillis was around.
I remember also how hard she worked as a waitress, to help support her family. I also remember, that she brought her father into your house when he was sick. Your Dad and Mom converted the dining room into his bedroom. She so lovingly took care of him along with her children. Rushing around and smiling.
I am sorry I will not be at the wake tomorrow night. I would have like to tell you in person, how much I loved your mother and what see meant to me in my life. I wish you peace, as mourn the loss of your mother. She was a beautiful soul.
Love, Rachael
