Obituary of Helen DiPietro

Helen F. (Tabaldi) DiPietro, widow of beloved Dominic A. DiPietro, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on November 12, 2024, after fighting illness for more than a year.

Helen was married to her high school sweetheart for 35 years and never quite got over the loss of her amazing husband, who was taken all too soon. Helen resided in Burlington for more than 60 years. She was a Cub Scout Leader and could be found at every event cheering on her children and grandchildren during football games, hockey games, soccer games, baseball games, dance recitals, high school music concerts, high school plays, college music events, even going as far as attending middle school concerts and plays, at a middle school where her grandson teaches music and drama. Helen worked as an electronic skills instructor at many electronic companies in and around Burlington, Massachusetts. She was active at the Burlington Senior Center and looked to her friends there as a second family. She felt most comfortable working on crochet, knit, embroidery, ceramics and countless other crafts, always to give as gifts to the ones she loved. For Helen, every holiday or family celebration meant hours in the kitchen preparing the most delicious family favorites. You would never leave Helen’s home hungry for either food or knowing that you were loved and cherished.

Daughter of Helen (Sampson) Tabaldi and Frank G. Tabaldi, late of Somerville, Massachusetts; daughter-in-law to Margaret (Santoro) and Orazio DiPietro, deceased; mother of Baby Boy DiPietro; Kenneth R. DiPietro and Shelley DiPietro, of New Hampshire; Michelle (DiPietro) Abruzzese and Michael Abruzzese, of Burlington, Massachusetts; loving grandmother of Fred Iovanna and Dominic DiPietro, both of Revere, Massachusetts; Nicholas Abruzzese and Marissa Rumore, Nicholas’s significant other, of Tewksbury, Massachusetts; Megan Abruzzese, of Burlington, Massachusetts; Brianna Abruzzese, of Burlington, Massachusetts and Justin Blair, Brianna’s significant other, of Leominster, Massachusetts; sister-in-law of Frank DiPietro, of Maine; Catherine Fitzgerald, deceased; Mary Menard of Maine; and William Blacker, deceased.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation on Saturday, November 23rd from 9 am until 10:30 am.  Helen's Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 23rd at 11 am.  Burial will immediately follow at Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Perkins Library – Perkins School for the Blind, 141 Riverside Street, Watertown, Massachusetts 02472.
