Obituary of John F. Arsenault

John F. Arsenault, age 68, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2024 surrounded by his loving family, following a brief illness.

Born in Chelsea, MA on May 7, 1956, he was a dear son of the late Joseph F. and Marguerite (Brown) Arsenault.  John was also a loving brother of the late Joseph F. Arsenault, Jr., who passed only three years ago.

John enjoyed the simpler things in life: a loving family, great friends, and if he was lucky, an ice-cold beer.  He never took life too seriously and loved getting everyone around him laughing.  Even in his final days, he was still cracking jokes and making every effort to get a rise out of whoever was visiting at the time.  In his free time, when he wasn’t playing his guitar or fishing with friends, his favorite and proudest title he held was father and grandfather.  He was an amazing and loving dad and always looked forward to every moment he had with his grandchildren.  His bonds went well beyond just his family though, with many of his friendships lasting over 50 years.  At his core, John was a kindhearted, fun-loving man who did his best to bring happiness and love to the lives of the people he loved most.  As a father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend he was truly one of the best, and he will be sorely missed.

Surviving John is his daughter, Juli Brown; his grandchildren, Connor (Carolyn), Ryan, Kylie, and Kayden; his siblings, Diane Johnson and her husband Bob, James Arsenault, and Denise Carthas and her husband Richard; his former wife, Deb Arsenault, who lovingly stepped in to become John’s caregiver when he needed her most, and to whom his family is forever grateful; as well as 5 nieces, 2 nephews, and many other loving family members and amazing friends.

Friends and family are invited to attend John’s Memorial Service on Friday, December 6th at 11:30 am at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Danvers.  Memorial luncheon will immediately follow.
