Obituary of Angela Yavanian

Angela Yavanian, 93, of Billerica and formerly of Burlington and Medford, passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at the Lahey Clinic and Medical Center.

Angela, known to her entire family as Auntie, was born in Marseille, France. She was the only daughter of the late Garabed and Ovsanna (Antaramian), of Medford. She was educated in the French school system until she graduated from secondary school. At the age of 22, she and her family emigrated from France and traveled to the United States, settling in Medford, Massachusetts.  For many years, Angela cared for and looked after her parents and her brothers, all while being employed fulltime as a seamstress at local clothing facilities in Boston and Medford.

Family was always a strong pillar of happiness for Angela; Auntie spent her later days with her extended family, including her treasured nieces and nephews. She also volunteered at the Burlington Council on Aging.  The depth of her compassion knew no bounds and those close to her always felt deeply loved.

Angela is survived by her brothers, Jacques Yavanian and his wife Marilyn of Burlington; John Yavanian and his wife Marilyn of Billerica; her sister-in-law, Artemis Yavanian of Burlington; 8 nieces and nephews; and 18 great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her older brother Joseph who passed away in 2020.   Funeral Services will be private.  In lieu of flowers, memorials in Angela’s name may be made to People Helping People, PO Box 343, Burlington MA 01803 www.peoplehelpingpeopleinc.org
