Obituary of Gilda Ciccarello

Gilda “Jill” Ciccarello, a resident of Burlington for almost 50 years, passed away on Monday afternoon, August 5, 2013 after a lengthy illness at the age of 84 years old. Jill was born in Boston, and was one of 9 children born to late Dominic and Antoinette Marcoccio. She grew up and was educated in East Boston. She married Joseph Ciccarello living in East Boston and Belmont before buying their first and only home in Burlington. She had worked for RCA which later became GE in Burlington, for more than 20 years performing delicate assembly work for projects like the Lunar module for the USA space effort. Jill was a very talented crafter. Her works of art included crocheting, needlepoint, quilting, Egg shell craft, and collectible dolls with ceramic heads and arms, that she assembled, hand painted, and sewed. These collectibles were displayed on her walls and in her large display cases, next to her extraordinary elephant collection that contained elephant figures from all over the world. Her family has many of these heirlooms that will always remind them of Jill. She loved her home, her many long time neighbors, and her friends at the senior center in Lowell where she was always a contender to win the jackpot at bingo.
