Obituary of Mary Catalano

Mary L. Catalano, a resident of Burlington for 21 years passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Sunday afternoon, November 26, 2006. She was 86 years old. Mary was born in Arlington. She was the daughter of Italian Immigrants the late Antonio and Carmella Catalano. Mary was raised and educated in Arlington where she lived until moving to Burlington in 1985. Mary had a career as a Bookkeeper. Her last job was at James F. Murphy in Burlington where she worked for 20 years until her retirement in 1988. Mary enjoyed traveling. Every year she would take a three-week vacation and would travel throughout the United States. One of her favorite vacation spots was Hawaii where she visited on five different occasions. Mary took pride in her home and enjoyed working on her flower garden and up until the last two years she even cut her own lawn. Mary was a woman of deep faith and was very active in her church, Saint Malachy’s. She worked with Sister Margo for many years in the Religious Education Program, she was involved with the church fairs and helped with the collections. Mary was a loving and caring sister and aunt who will be deeply missed by all who loved her. Mary is the beloved sister of Patrick Catalano & his wife Carol of Burlington, Theresa R. Catalano of Burlington and the late Joseph Catalano & his late wife Shirley. Mary is the loving aunt of Richard Catalano, Stephen Catalano, Joanne DiGiacomo, Susan Farnsworth, and Karen Donahue. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St. BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt., 128, Woburn side) on Wednesday, Nov. 29 at 10 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Malachy’s Church at 11:00 a.m. Visiting hours Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Interment in Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington.
