I've known Bill since we both started volunteering on the USS Salem. For many years he recruited me to be a tour guide for his annual St. Margaret's field trip. I learned all I know about the CIC (Combat Information Center) from him and always enjoyed talking with him, no matter the topic. I knew he was very devoted to his wife, always leaving the ship to make sure he got home in time to have dinner with her. I had no idea they had 8 children together! I will miss Bill, but know that many of his former crewmates were there to greet him.

We were so saddened to hear of Bill's passing. He spent so many wonderful years with our students at St. Michael School in North Andover. The love of science that he instilled in them will carry his legacy for years and years to come! The annual field trip for 5th grade to the USS Salem was a highlight for the teachers and students as well. From lessons on bubbles to paper airplanes, our students learned to have an appreciation and love of science and nature. He has been thought of often in his retirement and will always remain in our daily thoughts and prayers. Please accept our sincere thanks for all his years of service to our school community!

My kids are in 6th and 7th grade now but the highlight of their early years at St. Margaret's was a Mr. Anderson day.
They often squabble, as siblings do, but would come home in excited conversation over the days "experiments."
Thank you Mr. Anderson, for your love of science.

My children were always excited to go to school on a Mr. Anderson day.
If he had set up in the parking lot you could see every child heading into school craning their necks to guess the day's experiment. His love of science and his ever present smile will always be remembered. God Bless. May God send more just like him.

Thank you for sharing Bill with all the children from ages 4-14 at St.Augustine School in Andover. .I of course had to talk him into trying to teach Physical Science to first graders 17 years ago. Once he was there he was hooked and so were all the children. His gifts of having all the children participate and his knowlege of Science can never be replaced. We have all been enriched , children and teachers as well by his love of children and gift of teaching. We also heard many "pool" stories so we felt we knew his wonderful family.
Bill also came to the Asian Center each summer and did a lesson on Bubbles ! Even this summer when I taught there the older children would ask " is the " Bubble Man" coming?
Bill will be missed by all the students and teachers touched by his life through the years.

Bill
was my program manager for most of the 30+ years I was at ITEK. I began as a Jr Elect. Engineer and at Bills retirement was his Chief Elect. Engineer.
He was one of the best and most energetic program managers at ITEK and had a way of motivating the engineers around him and exciting the customers with what they were going to get. When most of the other programs were struggling for work Bill always had work for his people. Bills efforts and vision for the future spearheaded ITEK's move from large Optics and film cameras to Electro-optics and Infra-red optical sensors by selling customers on this new technology and delivering systems that worked out of the box.
With all the ITEK'ers that have left us I'm sure Bill is now in good company and enjoying renewing old acquaintances.
Rest in Peace Bill

Dear family of Bill Anderson
I will always remember Bill for his enthusiasm and passion for GOLF as well as his dedication to the SEED program. He was most definitely a favorite when teaching science at my daughter Emily's classes at Saint Margaret's school in Lowell. I will miss hearing all his lessons and stories. Your father had such an amazing personality. Always made the best out of the situation. I learned a lot from him and life will be very different without him. I am sorry for your loss. He spoke very highly of his family. Thank you for sharing your father and loving husband with us.
With fond memories, Marsha Marshaink@yahoo.com

Enjoyed ten or more great years as Bill's Planner. We were certainly the 'Winning Team' on the Blackbird Programs and everyone knew it! Bill, see you up there.
