Obituary of Ani Kessisian-Sherman
Ani Kessisian passed away peacefully at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital with her family at her bedside on Wednesday afternoon, October 9, 2013. She was just 47 years old.
Ani was born in Greece and moved to Boston when she was 10 years old. She arrived with her family, one suitcase, a couple of hundred dollars, and the determination to learn the English language. Ani had a dream to be a pilot, and that is exactly what she sought out to do. She graduated from Watertown High School and Hawthorne College. She became a flight instructor for Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Arizona. In a male dominated industry, she soared to the top of her class and was recognized as one of the top female pilots in the industry. She flew for Continental Express for a few years, before accepting an amazing opportunity with UPS. She flew 767’s internationally to Europe and other exotic destinations. She also focused her passion for fitness as both a certified trainer and instructor. Over the last few years, she also pursued her interest in the real estate business working for Century 21 Commonwealth in Watertown. With no surprise, she worked to become the top agent at her company.
Ani has been such an exceptional sister and friend to those whose lives she touched. She was a soul mate to her husband, Jim. She was always there to encourage and support her family and all those who touched her life. Ani has accomplished more in her short life span, than most people have in an entire lifetime. Her family was so proud of her, and thankful to have been a part of her life journey. They call her the “Rockstar” in their family, because that’s how truly amazing she is… and will always be.
Ani was the beloved wife of James Sherman. She was the loving daughter of Bogos Kessisian of Arlington and the late Takoui “Queeny” Kessisian. She was the sister and best friend of Shakey Kessisian of Burlington. She was the niece of Seta Kupelian of Greece and cousin of Christine Taktajian of Houston, TX, and Andrew Taktajian of NYC , NY.
