Obituary of Ellen Collins

Ellen Marie Collins, passed away at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House, on Friday evening, November 1, 2013. The beloved Life Partner of Tammy Carney she was 57 years old. Ellen was born, raised and educated in Burlington. She was a 1974 graduate of Burlington High School. Ellen and Tammy enjoyed the beach and for a period of time lived in Maine. Ellen and Tammy both loved Disney and had taken a trip together. Ellen’s family was the center of her life. There wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for her nieces and nephews. She was so proud of them and all of their accomplishments. It gave Ellen great pride to be part of their lives growing up from their baptisms, birthday’s, weddings, and the birth of a great niece or nephew. Tammy and Ellen were together 12 years and these years were the most wonderful years of Ellen’s life. Ellen was the beloved Life Partner of Tammy Carney of Stoneham. Beloved daughter of the late Ann (McLaughlin) Collins. Loving sister of Claire Dunbar & her late husband Stephen of Fitchburg, Michael of Billerica, Brian of Townsend, and Mary Ann Colantuoni & her husband David of Groton. Proud & loving aunt of Melissa (Dunbar)Lambert, Katie (Dunbar) Farr, Sean Dunbar, Heidi & Jeff Collins, and Timothy & Meghan Colantuoni. Also survived by many great nieces, great nephews & friends. A Memorial Wake will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Wednesday, Nov. 6 from 4-7 p.m. Concluding with Funeral Services at 7 p.m. Burial will be private.
