Obituary of Richard Danielson
Richard “Dickie” Danielson, a retired machinist, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday afternoon, November 2, 2013. He was 71 years old.
Richard was born in Woburn, the son of the late Olga and John Herbert Danielson. He grew up in Burlington and was a graduate of Burlington High School, Class of 1960. He had worked as a machinist for W.H. Nichols Company which became Parker Hanafin Company for 30 years. He then worked for 10 more years at the Lahey Clinic in their Security Department. Richard married his wife Carol and 1964 and they settled in Billerica to start their family in 1965. Richard loved his home and his family. He wasn’t much for going away, he would much rather spend his days working around his home. He had a large garden and loved sharing his crop, especially his tomatoes and cucumbers with family and friends. He enjoyed being a fish keeper and collected five aquariums full of different varieties of fish which he avidly cared for. He also enjoyed fishing with Plum Island being one of his favorite fishing spots. He enjoyed quiet time spent in his gazebo and enjoyed reruns of old television shows and movies. It was quite the treat to have all of his children living only minutes away from each other in Billerica and using Richard’s home as the place to gather, enjoy and support each other, and keep the strong family bond they Richard and his wife Carol began.
Richard was the loving husband of 49 years of Carol A. (Cappello). Loving father of Cheryl Paquette, Denise Stuart & her husband Edward, Richard Jr., and Mark & his wife Melissa all of Billerica. Son of the late Olga & john Herbert Danielson. Brother of the late John “Ronnie” Danielson. Proud grandfather of Heather, Nicole, Ryan Paquette, Joey Wirroll, Kyle & Amanda Stuart, Alexa, Samantha, Brooke, and Dylan Danielson.
Funeral services will be private. Memorials in Richard’s name may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 85Astyor Ave, Suite 2, Norwood, MA 02062 or the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
