Obituary of John Lee
John P. Lee died unexpectedly on Monday, November 4, 2013 at the Saints Memorial Medical Center in Lowell. He was only 46 years old.
John was born in Winchester, the son of Herbert and Mary Lee. He grew up in the Winnmere section of Burlington, where he had a great number of friends with whom he has always remained close. He was a member of the Laborers Union, Local 22 where he worked heavy equipment, and construction most of his career. The nicest thing most would say about John was he was just a “Nice Guy”. He was warm, hospitable, included everyone, and would do anything for anyone. He loved being around his home, backyard, or bon fire which was often the gathering place for family and friends. He wasn’t the center of attention, just the cheerful one who was happy to share a story or catch up in your life’s events. He was always there to lend a helping hand or tool. He loved Harley Davidson motorcycles and Chevrolet Nova, which he almost always painted black. He loved animals and fishing. He could be spontaneous at times and often lived in the moment. He was a great Uncle Johnny to his nieces and nephews. His childcare philosophy was simple; “I will do anything you want, Just don’t cry!” All his family and friends have wonderful and meaningful memories of John. He will be greatly missed, but always remembered.
John was the loving husband to his wife Dawn, whom he had spent the last 14 years together, 7 of which as husband and wife. He was the loving son of Herbert and Mary Lee of Penobscot, ME. Brother of Thomas of Billerica, Tammy Howland & her husband Ken of Wilmington, Nadine Martin & her husband Eddie of Hermon, ME, and Robert & his wife Lisa of Billerica. Son-in-law of Darlene Strickland of Tewksbury. Brother-in-law of Kristie Barrila and Karrie & Dan Ottaviano all of Tewksbury. Uncle Johnny to 14 nieces and nephews, many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visiting hours will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON on Thursday, Nov. 7 from 4-7 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. The interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials in John’s name may be made to the Johnny Lee Memorial Fund, c/o TD Bank, 995 Main Street, Tewksbury, MA 01876
