Lindsay, Sarah, Abby and Phyllis wrote the following eulogy for Serena. Lindsay read it at the Church service.
IN MEMORY OF SERENA
Loyal, Bold, Funny, Compassionate, Beautiful and Smart... Serena knew how to capture an audience with her outgoing personality. Her smile, her laugh, her voice, her presence! Serena’s personality goes unmatched. Such a vibrant woman, full of Spunk and spirit.
We don't have the answers to why her life was cut short. But the years and memories we did get with her are a treasure we can never forget.
Like when she performed for the family every holiday when she was little and even as an adult she continued to entertain us on Holidays and family gatherings . Excitedly hunting for Easter eggs with all the kids, jumping on Laurie's trampoline making us laugh hysterically. In grade school, she loved playing kickball in high heels and a frilly dress . She had quite a fashion sense with her flashy colorful clothes and bold jewelry... oh and don’t forget she is the only 39 year old who could rock a sequin hat! She was so much fun! Wonder woman..to super kitty to super mom!!
Always putting on a smile for the camera. Being real with herself and true to who God made her to be!! If there is one thing I can say about Serena. She never shied away from who she was!! She was true to herself. And didn't let anyone take her confidence. Serena attracted attention from everyone around her with her vibrant personality. Serena got to experience the gift of being a mom. Even if it was only for a brief time, she brought a beautiful baby girl into this world! She called her Delightful Delilah!! Serena’s facebook use to be over loaded with selifies and now it is flooded with baby pictures of Delilah. Her pride and joy! She was so excited to be a mom! And she was devoted to her daughter.
It is difficult to choose words to sum up the life of someone you love. We know that Serena’s legacy is going to live on through Delilah’s infectious smile and her ability to captive a room, just like her mom.
Serena has gone home to be with the Lord, we take comfort in knowing that she is in the everlasting presence of Jesus. But we all have our own memories of Serena engraved on our hearts. That will be with us always. We love you Serena and we will miss you!! We look forward to the day we will see you again!

Serena, my heart ABSOLUTELY broke when I heard of your passing! Whenever I have thought of you, the first word that comes to mind is FUN! You were one of the most charismatic larger than life people I ever met. You were my very first Best Friend I ever made! (I was 6). I still can recall your address (86 Judson Street) and your phone number (322-9002) off the top of my head like it was yesterday. I think of ALL your funny antics and that infectious laugh you had! I remember going to SkateTown USA with you and Michelle, Your Aunt Nancy Swinging a Coconut head outside your window to scare us on your birthday, and watching you work out to that IMPOSSIBLE Jane Fonda exercise routine (You did it with ease.) Trick or treating with you, giving "Nikki" the neighborhood stray dog a bath with the garden hose on one of the coldest day of the year, and going on my first and only whale watch with you when we were 8. I remember the captain told us to stop feeding the whale because he was rocking the boat! And too many more to even list.
Even though we lost touch for a while (almost 30 years), when I moved back to Malden a couple years ago, we reconnected and picked up like it was yesterday, sitting in your grandma's kitchen brought me RIGHT back to when we were kids. I wasn't just your friend Serena, I was part of your family. That's how you made me feel, you and all your family.
Serena, you were fiercely loyal and protective, and I will ALWAYS think of you for the rest of my life!
Your Friend Forever,
Jen
