Obituary of Christopher McCabe

Christopher McCabe, a retired electrician, passed away unexpectedly in York, Pennsylvania, while visiting his family for the Thanksgiving holiday. He was 83 years old. Chris was born and grew up in Dublin, Ireland. He came to the United States in 1958, earned his electrician license and started a new life in America. He met Anna Sheehan and they were married in 1964. They settled in Burlington in 1968 and shared 47 years together before Anna’s passing in 2011. They enjoyed travelling back to Ireland on a regular basis to visit their family and friends. They also made a great couple on the dance floor. Chris was a life member of the Burlington Knights of Columbus. Chris was extremely knowledgeable when it came to anything mechanical and enjoyed working around his home and backyard. He was always there to share his talents with his family and friends. Chris was a humble and incredibly independent man, who was proud of his Irish heritage. His sense of humor will be sorely missed. Chris was the loving husband of 47 years to the late Anna T. (Sheehan). He was the brother of Bernadette McComas & her husband Gerald of York, PA, the late May O’Neill, Esther Buchanan, James, Pierce, Patrick, Leo, Lorenzo, and Thomas McCabe. Chris is also survived by many nieces and nephews. A visiting hour will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (exit 34 off Rt. 128/95, Woburn side) on Saturday, December 7 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at 10 a.m. Interment in Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington.
