Obituary of Florence Feeney

Florence Irene (Carter) Feeney, passed away at the Wilmington Health Care Center on Thursday evening, March 13, 2014. The beloved wife of 66 years of the late Walter Feeney, she was 90 years old. Florence was born in Boston. She was raised and educated in Brighton. She was the daughter of the late William and Barbara Carter. Florence and her husband Walter lived in Arlington for a brief period before settling in Burlington in 1958 where they raised their six children. Florence led a full and active life. She worked at Building 19 in Burlington for many years where she ran the Domestic Department. She loved to walk at the Burlington Mall in the early hours each morning before the Mall opened. She had a talent for crafts whether it was knitting, ceramics, sewing or crocheting. Florence and Walter always enjoyed an evening out on the town with dinner and dancing! She looked forward to visits from her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to make beautifully crocheted afghans for her family. Florence was blessed to live a life that spanned 90 years and leaves a legacy of love and family. Beloved wife of the late Walter P. Feeney. She was the loving mother of Beverley Jones & her husband Thomas of Tewksbury, Janice Heintz & her husband Fred of Chester, NH, Archie Feeney & his late wife Joanne of Burlington, Kathleen Pace & her late husband Dominic of Milford, NH, James Feeney & his wife Susan of Sarasota, FL and the late Joseph & his wife Roxanne of Clinton, CT. Sister of the late Constance Buckley, William Carter, Jr. and Frank Carter. Also survived by 17 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Monday, March 17 at 10:30 AM. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at 11:30 AM. Visiting hours Sunday Noon – 3 PM. Interment in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, BURLINGTON.
