Obituary of James Rogers
James Rogers passed away at his home in Burlington on Saturday afternoon, March 29, 2014. The beloved and devoted husband of 68 years of Ester (Hede) he was 92 years old.
Jim was born and raised in Somerville. He was the son of the late Anthony and Julia Rogers. Jim had an incredible strong work ethic and had worked as a machinist at Geartronics for over 52 years. His life was devoted to caring for his wife Ester which he did with unselfish love and devotion for 68 years. Another important part of Jim’s life were his friends at Dunkin Donuts in Burlington. Jim went there each morning and the friends that he met there became very special to him.
Jim was the beloved husband of s of Ester (Hede). Brother of Betty Waters and the late Arthur Rogers & Theresa Hadley. Dear friend of Henry & Karen Munroe of Burlington and Gerry Tellier of Peabody. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Route 128, Woburn side) on Friday April 4 at 10:30 AM Followed by Graveside Services at Pine Haven Cemetery, Bedford St., Burlington at 11:30 a.m. Visiting hours Thursday 6-8 p.m. Memorials in Jim’s name may be made to Woodbriar of Wilmington, to support the Nursing Staff on the 2nd Floor Concord Unit, 90 West St., Wilmington, MA 01887.
