Obituary of Rita Walker
Rita C. Walker, a woman who loved the holidays and sharing her spirit with others passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday morning, November 22, 2011. She was 86 years old. Rita was born in Arlington, the daughter of the late James and Ann Crosby. She grew up in Arlington and attended Arlington High School. She married her late husband Wes and they settled in Burlington in 1962 to raise their 4 children. She was retired from Raytheon in Waltham, where she worked as a supervisor. In her leisure time, Rita enjoyed her weekly card games, traveling around the world, and going to the theater with her many girlfriends.
Rita was the beloved wife of the late Elmer “Wes” Walker, Jr. She was a loving and caring mother to her children; Sharon MacNeill & her husband Robert of Brockton, Maureen Bertolami of Clearwater, FL, Judy Giaimo & her husband Richard of Leominster, and Gary of Burlington. She was the sister of Irene O’Connor of N. Andover, Sarah Gummeson of N. Andover, Victoria Levin of TN, the late Mary Yates , Thomas, James, and Lawrence Crosby. She was a loving and fun “Nana” to her grandchildren; Michael & Matthew MacNeill, Ryan, David, & Dominic Bertolami, and Steven Giaimo.
Funeral services will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Saturday, November 26 at 11:30 a.m. Visiting hours Friday from 4-8 p.m. Interment in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Burlington.
