Obituary of Norma Fialkosky

Norma Ruth (Spencer) Fialkosky, a woman who lived for her family, passed away at her home on Friday, April 11, 2014. The beloved wife of 53 years of the late Stanley M. Fialkosky, she was 83 years old. Norma was born in Boston and raised in Allston. She was one of 8 children born to the late Ewart and Emily Spencer. Norma and Stanley settled in Burlington in 1959 where they raised their three sons. When her sons where young Norma worked at the Francis Wyman Junior High School as a cook in the cafeteria. When they were older she went to work for Space & Tactical. Norma worked as an assembler and was very proud of the fact that she worked on the first satellite to go into space! Norma’s greatest gift in her life was her family. She was very involved in her son’s lives. She was a Den Mother when they were involved in the cub scouts. Norma had an “open door policy” at her home and always welcomed her son’s friends and the other children from the neighborhood into her home. Norma was a woman who lived for the moment. She never forgot a birthday, anniversary or any special event in her families lives and her holidays were filled with tradition and love. She was blessed to see the birth of her first great grandchild Brayden. Norma treated her two daughter-in-laws like there were her own daughters and had a special relationship with both of them. Norma will be remembered as a woman who always saw the good in people and who had unconditional love for her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchild. Norma was the beloved wife of the late Stanley M. Fialkosky. She was the loving mother of Carleton Thomas Fialkosky & his wife Stacey of North Billerica, Kenneth Stanley Fialkosky & his wife Diana of Woburn and Keith Michael Fialkosky of Burlington. Norma was the sister of Mabel Jones & her husband Sid of FLA and the late Jean, Winfred, Muriel, Edna, Henry and Ewart ‘Dicky”. She was the proud grandmother of Thomas & his companion Kaitlyn Gallinaro of Billerica, David of Billerica, and Jacob, Jesse & Lea of Woburn. Great grandmother of Brayden. A memorial wake will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., Burlington (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Saturday, April 19 from 9:30 a.m. – 11 a.m. Concluding with Funeral Services at 11 a.m. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. In lieu of flowers memorials in Norma’s name may be made to the VNA of Middlesex East, Visiting Nurse Hospice, 607 North Avenue #17, Wakefield, MA 01880
