Obituary of George Vogler

George C. Vogler passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, November 25, 2011. The beloved husband of the late M. Mildred (Moore) he would have celebrated his 84 birthday on December 27. George was born in Malden; the son of the late Perley L. and Emma K. Vogler, of Vogler’s Cove, Nova Scotia. He was raised and educated in Everett. George was a veteran of World War II serving his country in the United States Navy aboard the NTC Bainbridge, MD, YMS 397, USS Harry F Bauer, and the USS Howard W. Gilmore. George met his wife Mildred while living in Everett. They married and settled in Burlington in 1956 where they raised their 4 children until moving to Nashua, NH in 2000. George had a successful career as the V. P. of Computer Operations at Sun Life in Boston, where he worked for over 42 years. George and his family enjoyed summering in Rangeley Lakes, Maine. He was an avid golfer and reader. George loved to spend time with his children and their families. He enjoyed many vacations with Amy and her family, including trips to Disney, Sabago Lake, and at her in-laws in York Beach, Maine. George was a devoted husband, father and grandfather that will be missed. George was the beloved husband of the late M. Mildred (Moore). George was the loving father of Gary Vogler & his wife Peggy of Chelmsford, Amy Hansis & her husband James of Westford, Glenn Vogler & his wife Kim of Salem, NH, and Mark Vogler & his wife Linda of Attleboro. Brother of the late Olga B. Coleman. George is also survived by 7 grandchildren. Memorial Services will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off rt. 128, Woburn side) on Thursday, Dec. 1 at 11:30 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Interment private. In lieu of flowers memorials in George’s name may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, 370 7th Avenue, 3rd Floor, Room 320 New York City, NY 10001.
