Obituary of Dorothy Lacroix

Dorothy (O’Rourke Maloney) Lacroix, a resident of Burlington for 59 years, passed away at the Woodbriar of Wilmington Nursing Center on Thursday morning, April 24, 2014. The beloved wife of 37 years of the late Maurice Lacroix, she was 90 years old. Dorothy was born, raised and educated in North Cambridge. She was the daughter of Irish immigrants the late James and Kathleen O’Rourke. After high school Dorothy went on to attend Secretarial School graduating with an Associate’s Degree. She had a successful and long career at RCA in Burlington as a Secretary. She loved her job at RCA and made many friendships that she kept throughout the years through her involvement in the RCA Retirement Club. She was very active in the club helping to organize parties and gatherings. Dorothy and Maurice met while Ballroom Dancing and had a wonderful 37 years together. They traveled throughout Europe visiting such destinations as Germany and France. She was very proud of her Irish heritage and made a number of trips to Ireland. Dorothy will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Dorothy was the beloved wife of 37 years of the late Maurice Lacroix. She was the loving mother of James Maloney & his wife Agnes of Mystic, CT, Jean Maloney-Stewart & her husband Philip of Reading and the late John Maloney. Mother-in-law of Paulette Maloney of Norcross, GA. Sister of the late Kathleen and Charles O’Rourke. Proud grandmother of Matthew Stewart of Reading and Meaghan Maloney of Norcross, GA.
