Obituary of Alfred Cosman

Alfred F. Cosman, a resident of Burlington for 55 years, passed away at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers on Saturday morning, May 31, 2014 the beloved and devoted husband of Angelina (Sellitto) he was 93 years old. Al was born in Revere. He was one of 5 sons born to the late John and Ethel Cosman. Al was raised and educated in the Linwood section of Malden. Al was a veteran of World War II serving his country in the United States Army. He was the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Campaign Ribbon and the Victory Medal. Al and Angie were married on October 11, 1952 and settled in Burlington in 1959. They lived in a wonderful neighborhood filled with many caring friends. Al attended Northeastern in the evening and received his Bachelor Degree. He went on to work as a Chemist for Cabot Corporation in Billerica where he worked for 32 years. Al lived a full and active life. He enjoyed ballroom dancing and bowling. Al and Angie enjoyed traveling and visited many countries within Europe. Al and Angie were “Mall Walkers” at the Burlington Mall. Al was not a person to sit idle. He rode his “stationary bike” five miles a day for over 30 years just stopping five months ago. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed golfing a many different courses throughout Massachusetts. He was a longtime member of a golf league at the Hillview country Club in North Reading. Al golfed up until the age of 92. Al will be remembered for his love and devotion to his wife of 61 years – Angie. Al was the beloved husband of Angelina (Sellitto). Loving brother of Henry of Bedford, Robert of Malden, and the late John and Sylvester “Jock”. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews and friends. Funeral Services will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Wednesday, June 4 at 11 a.m. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8 p.m. Interment in Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington.
