Obituary of Lisa Murphy

Lisa M. Murphy passed away after a brief illness at the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington on Saturday, June 14, 2014. She was 49 years old. Lisa was a lifelong resident of Reading and graduate of Reading High School. She had worked as a General Foreman for the Massachusetts Department of Transportation and then worked as a Case Manager for Griswold Company which provides home care to seniors. Lisa was a woman with a big heart and a natural warmth. Lisa was the type of person that when she entered the room, everyone felt her presence. She was extremely out going, making those sharing her company fell appreciated and welcomed. She had an incredible sense of humor and loved to laugh. She was always willing to offer a helping hand and even her last dollar if someone needed more than her. She loved vacationing in the White Mountains. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the Reading American Legion and D.A.V. Lisa’s memory will always bring a smile to those who knew and loved her. Lisa was the wife of John F. Murphy of Reading. She was the mother of Mikayla Cintron. She was the daughter of Lorraine McGovern of Haverhill and the late James McGovern. She was the sister of Laurie Traya of HI, Lynne Watkins, and Leslie Payette of Haverhill. Lisa was also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. A Celebration of Lisa’ Life will be held at the Reading American Legion, 37 Ash Street, Reading on Sunday, June 29 from 2-6pm. All are invited.
