Obituary of Robert DeMole

Robert Francis DeMole, retired co-owner of Leo Engineering in Burlington , passed away peacefully with his family by his side and in their hearts on Wednesday, July 30, 2014. He was 68 years young. Bob was born in Boston, he was the son of the late Attilo & Frances DeMole. He grew up and was educated in Dorchester. He was happily married to his wife, Mary Reeves whom he met through friends. They have spent 50 wonderful years together. Bob was a self- made man and was known to be a man of all trades. There wasn't much Bob wasn't able to fix or do . From designing complex systems at work to building and designing his son, Bobby's addition to his home, and giving his daughter, Lisa, a manicure the day of her wedding, he could do it all. He was very well known to be a patient, kind, strong, generous and knowledgeable man. Most people who knew Bob would say he was a genius and the smartest man they have ever met. Bob was a family man and really enjoyed the time he spent with his wife, children, grandchildren and extended family and friends. He adored his family and served as a mentor to the men in his life. All the girls were princesses in Bobs eyes. Bob's grandchildren loved their "e;Papa"e; dearly. In addition , Bob was an avid skimobiler for 20 years. It was not unusual for him to drive 6 hours to Rangeley, Maine to experience the best trail conditions with Mary and friends. He was the type of guy that, if he saw a stranger having a mechanical problem with their snow mobile ,he would stop right away and lend a helping hand. He also enjoyed camping on the weekends with Mary, Lisa and Bobby at Lake Sebastian. He found joy in fixing and building old cars as well as building and racing demolition derby cars. Bob was one of the lucky drivers to be stuck on Rt. 128 for two days during the blizzard of 1978. He abandoned his vehicle and walked from Needam to Hyde Park to get home to his family. Bob will be remembered as a man big in stature with a even bigger heart. He will be truly missed by all. Bob was the beloved husband of 50 years of Mary E. (Reeves). He was the loving father of Lisa Caterino & her husband Michael of Burlington and Robert F. DeMole, Jr. of Billerica and father-in-law of the late Laura DeMole. He was the brother of Donald of Burlington and Gary & his wife Joan of Weymouth. He was the very proud grandfather of Jessica, Michael & Brianna Caterino all of Burlington, Robert ,Elizabeth, and Emily, DeMole, III all of Billerica, and the late Danielle Caterino. He was the brother-in-law of Robert & Carol Reeves of Dennis, William Reeves of W. Roxbury, Edward Coughlin of Quincy, and the late Betty Coughlin and James Reeves. He was the dear friend of Janet Crowley of Quincy. Bob was also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Visiting hours will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (exit 34 off Rt. 128/95, Woburn side) on Sunday from 1-4 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
