Obituary of Louis Archer

Louis Archer, Jr. passed away at the Lowell General Saints Memorial Campus on Monday morning, August 4, 2014 after a lengthy illness, he was 80 years old. Louis was born in Boston. He was one of 7 children born to Italian Immigrants the late Louis and Onorina Archer. He was raised and educated in Somerville. Louis was a veteran of the Korean War serving his country in the United States Air Force from 1952-1956. He was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. Louis always had a passion for art and after the service he enrolled in Massachusetts College of Art in Boston where he received his bachelor degree. Louis went on to work for over 20 years as a Graphic Artist for C & C Associate based in both Wilmington and Burlington. Louis was a talented artist enjoying both oil painting and photography. He was the “official family photographer” at many of the family gatherings. He loved sharing his oil paintings, many of which were scenic landscapes, with his children. He was a “jack of all trades” something that he learned from his dad. There wasn’t anything that he could not fix. He was a collector of pens and watches and enjoyed following the Boston Sports Teams. Louis will be remembered as quiet man of faith who had great love of family. Louis was the husband of Rose Mary (Siebert) of Burlington. Louis was the loving father of Chris of MO, Juliane Risitano of Merrimack, NH, Michael & his wife Monica of Wilmington and Amy Archer & her husband Mike McCarthy of Wilmington. Brother of Adele Eaton of ME, Emma Carter of NJ, Louise Nolte of NJ, Irene Donnelly of NH and the late Phyllis Gannuscio & John Archer. Proud grandfather of Mikayla & Matthew Risitano, Julia & Ryan Archer and Frances & Eloise McCarthy. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Thursday, Aug. 7 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8 p.m. Interment in Pine Haven Cemetery, BURLINGTON.
