Obituary of William Edgerly
William I. “Billy” Edgerly , passed away at the age of 56 after a long struggle with COPD. Billy was born in Medford. He grew up in Burlington where he was involved in baseball and hockey. After graduating from Burlington High School in 1976, he went onto earn a degree from Franklin Technical Institute in Automotive Repair. Over his career he worked at a number of new car dealerships including Wellesley Volkswagen & Oldsmobile and Boch of Norwood. Billy was always available to help a family member or friend who was having car problems. He enjoyed going to the beach, keeping up with friends and family, and trying his luck with the MA State lottery. He spent almost 20 years living in the Natick area and when his illness progressed he returned home to Burlington to be closer to family. He valiantly accepted and fought his illness and outlived his prognosis by years.
Billy is the loving son of Patricia (Comey) and William Edgerly of Burlington, formerly of Medford. He was the brother of Lynne Rollins & her husband Mark of Burlington and Lauren Cadagan & her husband Brian of Reading. He was the proud uncle of Shawn, Molly, Meghan & Courtney Cadagan all of Reading.
Visiting hours Thursday, August 28 at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (exit 34 off Rt. 128/95, Woburn side) from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Concluding with a Funeral Service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington.
