Obituary of Renee Aponte

Renee Marie (Calder) Aponte, passed away after a 10 month battle with Cancer at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading on Sunday morning, October 12, 2014. She was just 27 years old. Renee was born in Lowell. She grew up in Billerica and was a graduate of Billerica High School Class of 2005. She was a very active and outgoing young adult. She volunteered and then worked at the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Billerica for a number of years during and following high school. She also danced for quite a few years. She was awarded the “Youth of the Year” from the Billerica Elks her senior year of high school. She loved to sketch and draw. She enjoyed playing the guitar. She enjoyed cooking with her mom. Her most memorable vacation was a family cruise. When Renee was first diagnosed with the cancer, she decided to make a “Bucket List” of the things she wanted to do and accomplish before her passing. With a strong will and the help from family and friends, Renee almost accomplished everything on her list. She valiantly fought her illness on her own terms and far exceeded the Doctor’s prognosis’s. Renee leaves a tremendous amount of family and friends whom she loved and cared for. She had a special place in her heart for her niece and nephews; Evelyn May, Dennis, Bobby, and Shayne whom she cared for as her own children. She was a loving daughter. Renee’s passing will be difficult to accept, but her memory and spirit will endure in the hearts of all those she has touched in her 27 years. Renee was the wife of Leonardo. She was the beloved daughter of Linda (Nazzaro) M. Calder Baker & her husband Fred of Burlington and Charles Calder & his wife Cindy of Merrimack, NH. She was the sister of Melissa Boisvert of Lowell and stepsister of Maureen, Shirley, Fred & Kristen, Tracie & Kevin, Allyse, Jamie, Chrystal, and Melissa Jeanne. She was the stepmother of Jordyn, Keiara, & Natalia Aponte. Renee was also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and 3 great Aunts. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (exit 34 off Rt. 95/128, Woburn side) on Wednesday, Oct. 15 at 9:15 a.m. Followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Theresa’s Church, 466 Boston Rd, Billerica at 10:30 a.m. Visiting hours Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, Memorials in Renee’s name may be made to the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Billerica, 19 Campbell Road, Billerica, MA 01821.
