After the birth of her two younger children, she stayed at home to attend to family and support her husband Jim in his education and career. She graduated from Wellesley College as a Davis Scholar with her A.B. degree in her mid-40’s and was a dedicated alumna. She returned to work as a tutor with the Lexington School Department where she supported elementary age English Language Learners, Metco students and students with special needs, forging enduring relationships with her boundless creativity, resourcefulness and patience. Maryann’s favorite occupation, after retiring from the public schools, was as caregiver to her grandchildren. She was a member of the Lexington Field and Garden Club and was an avid home gardener. Among various hobbies, her favorite was attending to and riding her horses. Maryann was a passionate Francophile who loved to travel with her husband and children, and was able to visit many of the places she had hoped to see.
