Obituary of Gail Scannell-Viglione
Gail Elizabeth Scannell-Viglione, 65 years old, passed away this Christmas Day, 2014.
Gail was born in Somerville, MA, the daughter of John and Elizabeth Scannell. She grew up in Arlington and was a graduate of Notre Dame High School in Cambridge. She earned her Associates degree from Aquinas Junior College and created a successful Real Estate career throughout Burlington, Lexington and Bedford.
Gail loved her son and her grandchildren. She loved to dance and she loved to knit, creating beautiful heirlooms for her grandchildren. Her deep love of the ocean and her family brought her peace and comfort year after year at York Beach, Maine.
Gail was the loving companion of the late Brian A. Cassella, and the beloved mother of Stephen Viglione and his wife Holly of Burlington. She was the sister of James Scannell & his wife Sally of Arlington. She was the proud and doting grandmother of Alexander, Jennavieve, Sophya, Annaliesa, and Zachary Viglione. She was also a special aunt to Patrick and Elizabeth Scannell of Arlington.
Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Wednesday, Dec. 31 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8 p.m. Interment in Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington. Memorials in Gail’s name may be made to the Salvation Army, 147 Berkeley St.,Boston, MA 02116-5197.
