Obituary of Marie Barnes

Marie (Morgan) Barnes, a resident of Burlington for 57 years, passed away at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center on Thursday afternoon, September 7, 2006. The wife of the late Paul V. Barnes, she was 86 years old. Marie was born and raised in Waltham. She was the daughter of the late Walter & Agatha Granger. Marie and her husband Paul settled in Burlington in 1949 and together built their own home, which they both took great pride in. Marie loved gardening, which was evident in the beautiful landscaping she maintained at her home. She was active in the community of Burlington. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters, the Garden Club, and in later years the Burlington Council on Aging where she enjoyed many friendships. Marie’s family was very important to her and she treasured the many special times she spent with her late husband Paul, her sons and their families. Marie is the loving wife of the late Paul V. She is the loving mother of Paul V. Barnes, Jr & his wife Nancy and Robert M. Barnes & his wife Maureen all of Woburn. She is the sister of Rita Coyle of Tewksbury and late, Walter Mogan. She is the grandmother of Kelly, Sean and Kaitlin Barnes of Woburn. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Monday, Sept. 11 at 8 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Malachy’s Church, 99 Bedford St., Burlington at 9 a.m. Visiting hours Sunday 3-7 p.m. Interment in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Burlington.
