I have such warm memories of Joanie, her keen sense of fun and humor, her infectious laugh, and her love of friends & family. As teens we all adored her and loved her open door hospitality. I remember hearing Dad's stories of the Brentons and the Chaces from the 1930s in Arlington and Cape Cod. Joan, we will miss you! May your memories be a comfort, Hallberg family.

Mark and Susan, I know it hurts a lot and there is nothing that will take away the loss of your mother. I had to go thru this in July and it eventually will make some sense as to why this happened. It's not fare that we lose those who we love so much, but letting them go, when they are in such pain, will give you some relief as you think back on how she was before this problem started. She will want you to remember how she was as you have grown and made families of your own. She gave you all she could, and now she has gone home to be with her Dad, Mom, brothers and sister. They are all looking down at us and trying to let you know they are all ok.
Please know we will all be there for you this weekend and forever.

Oh, How my heart hurts for Mark,Susan and Frank. Living next door to Joanie and Frank is like living with family! We all mostly moved in on the street in the early 1960's, children that were born living on this street, and those families that moved in , found that Frank and Joanie's doors were always wide open! Music always on! The 4th of July was Joanie 's and Frank's EVERY ONE IS FAMLY ! "Just come in. Her home on our street ,To her heavenly home , Joan, Loved Life, Her Family, And all of us like family on our street! Joanie, you left our Street Family, only to go to your Family that went before you, and you are now "SALFLY HOME" we will always hear your laughter on the wind and in the trees, On our Street ! As the song goes---WE ARE FAMILY!

My condolences to Mark, Susie and Uncle Frank. Joanie H was as big as life with a wonderful laugh that was infectious. One could not help but join in and laugh too. I have known her all my life and have some wonderful memories. From the Nelson rd Republican Committee Christmas parties in the 70's, to the bizarre parties at the Zimmerman's, to working with her at Friendly's as well as working together on the campaign trail. Joanie was so much fun, full of gusto, energy and love. Thinking of you all and sending love.

It's hard to believe Joanie is not here on earth with us...her wonderful burst of energy that came through our salon back door every Friday at 9:30am. Our wake up call. Her stories of fun with friends, her son and daughter of whom she spoke so often, her beautiful grandchildren --- each of you filled her heart to it's fullest. Her Legacy you all carry. My sister Lisa and I and all who were lucky enough to have a Friday morning appointment were truly blessed and touched by the love and friendship Joanie shared with us all. Words cannot begin to express our sadness for the loss of our dear friend...Fridays will never be the same. Heaven became a happier place on January 4th.
