Obituary of Norman Davy

Norman “Jim” Davy, passed away at the Southern New Hampshire Medical Center, following a brief illness, on Friday, January 9, 2015. The beloved husband of the late Terry L. (Verville) he was 71 years old. Jim was born in Montreal Canada. He was one of four children born to the late Norman and Eileen Davy. His family moved to Burlington when he was about 5 years old. It was while living in the Winnmere section of Burlington that he met his future wife Terry. They were neighbors and also worked together at local cleaners in Burlington. They married in 1966 and lived in Burlington where they raised their three children. Jim and Terry had a wonderful relationship. He loved to listen to his wife sing and one of their favorite pastimes was there weekly Karaoke sing along. Jim worked at MIT Lincoln Labs for over 25 years as a Maintenance Coordinator. Jim and Terry moved to Nashua, NH to be closer to their children and grandchildren. During his retirement years he worked as a Bus Attendant for First Student in the Nashua school system. Jim road with special needs students every day making sure they were buckled up and in their seats. He loved his job and took great joy in seeing the students each day. Jim was a very involved father and papa. When his son Matthew was young he was a Boy Scout Leader all the way through to Matthew becoming an Eagle Scout in 1998. He was very involved in his grandchildren lives. He never missed any of their games or competitions and could be seen sitting in the stands wearing his Nashua South “Papa” Jacket. Jim was such a fixture at all the events that he was affectionately known as “Papa” by all his children and grandchildren’s friends and parents. Jim was the beloved husband of the late the late Terry L. (Verville). Loving father of James L. Davy, Lori-ann Johnson & her husband David, and Matthew D. Davy all of Nashua, NH. Proud “Papa” of Kayla-ann, Myles, and Alyssa-ann Johnson. Brother of Glen Davy of Nashua, NH, Donna Hagen & her husband James of Temple, NH and Brian Davy& his wife Lorri of Harvard, MA. A Memorial visitation will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Thursday, Jan. 15 from 4-8 p.m. Burial at Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Burlington on Friday, Jan. 16 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorials in Jim’s name may be made to The Plus Company, 19 Chestnut St., Nashua, NH 03060 or the Great Nashua Relay for Life, C/Of LOL4TERRY, 2 Commerce Drive, Suite 110, Bedford, NH 03110
