Obituary of Elaine Langone
Elaine L. (Westwater) Langone, a retired Burlington Postal Worker, passed away at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center on Friday, February 13, 2015. The beloved wife of Daniel D. Langone, she was 77 years old.
Elaine was born and raised in Woburn. She was one of four children born to the late David and Lois Westwater. She was a member of the 1955 graduating class from Woburn High School. Elaine and her husband Dan settled on the same street in Woburn that she was raised on to raise their five children.
Elaine worked as a Distribution Window Clerk in the Burlington Post Office for 25 years. Elaine was not one to sit idle and after retirement she worked various part-time jobs. She loved to travel with her husband Dan and with her children. She visited such destinations as Canada, California, Las Vegas, Atlantic City and Foxwoods. When her children were younger they would rent cottages by the ocean for family vacations. Family gatherings were of great importance to the Langone family whether it was a family wedding or gathering for one of Elaine’s home cooked meals. She had a very close relationship with all her children and played an important role in her grandchildren’s lives. Elaine attended all their events as well as occasional babysitting duty. She was blessed to see the birth of 7 great grandchildren. Elaine and Dan celebrated 60 years of marriage in December of 2014.
Elaine was the beloved wife of Daniel D. Langone. She was the loving mother of David of Woburn, Debbie Littleton & her husband Steve of Woburn, Sharon of Woburn, Linda of ME and Anthony & his wife Martina of Woburn. Sister of the late Mary, Robert and John Westwater. Proud Nana of Lisa, Daniel, Gina, Sara, Anthony Jr. & Christina Langone, Ashley, Alison & Matthew Littleton and Tracey Watson. Also survived by 7 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Thursday, Feb 19 at 11 a.m. Followed by interment in Puritan Lawn Cemetery, Peabody. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8 p.m. Memorials in Elaine’s name may be made to St. Jude’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
