Obituary of Robert Lawrence Bradshaw
Robert “Bob” Lawrence Bradshaw of Woburn passed away after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease on Monday, February 15, 2015. He was 86 years old.
Bob was born in Cambridge, the son of the late Edwin and Lillian Bradshaw. He grew up in Cambridge and enlisted in the Army after high school. He was the recipient of the World War II Victory Medal and the Army of the Occupation Medal, Japan. He also served with the 52nd Signal Battalion in Yung Dung Po, Korea. After finishing his tour with the Army, Bob furthered his education in business and accounting at Northeastern. He spent most of his career as Comptroller for Millipore in Bedford, Mass. Bob was a member of the Irish American Club and the Knights of Columbus. He and his wife, Kathleen, made a wonderful couple, especially on the dance floor. Bob loved golfing, skating, skiing and traveling. He enjoyed a close bond, and many vacations, with his brothers and sisters and their families. He was an encouraging, supportive father and a fun and loving grandfather, known affectionately as “Bobby” to his ten grandchildren.
Bob was the beloved husband of 57 years of Kathleen Teresa (Crowley) Bradshaw. He was the loving father of Anne Ricardelli & her husband Joseph of Burlington, Kathleen Long & her husband Frank of W. Newbury, Mary McCarthy of Wakefield, Patricia Bradshaw & her husband Normand Landry of Calgary, Canada, and Stephen Bradshaw & his wife Lori of Fairfield, CT. He was the brother of Carol Evans of Eaton, NH, Mary Cosentino of Burlington, Jim Bradshaw of Brockton, and the late Edwin & John Bradshaw. Bob was the proud grandfather of Joanne & Dan Ricardelli, Courtney & Matty Long, Andrew, Patrick, Joseph, & Meg McCarthy, and Jack & Leanne Bradshaw.
Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., Burlington (exit 34 off Rt. 128/95, Woburn side) on Friday, Feb. 20 at 9:30 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony Church, 851 Main St., Woburn at 10:30 a.m. Visiting hours Thursday from 3-7 p.m. Interment in Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
