Obituary of Paul Anderson

Paul W. Anderson, a resident of Burlington for over 50 years, passed away at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading, after a brief illness, on Monday afternoon, January 2, 2012. The beloved husband of the late Barbara (DeVenne) who passed away in 2005, he was 85 years old. Paul was born, raised and educated in Somerville. He was the son of the late John and Mary Anderson. Paul enlisted in the Army shortly after his 18th Birthday and served in Company K, of the 330th Infantry Regiment, attached to the 83rd Division. His regiment participated in battles and campaigns in Ardennes, Central Europe, and the Rhineland. He was the recipient of the Army of Occupation Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. Paul’s life revolved around hard work and care of his family. He was a talented craftsman and was the owner of his own business, Paul W. Anderson Carpentry. He took great pride in his workmanship and specialized in remodeling, additions, and finished carpentry. Paul was a charter member of the Logan Post of the VFW in Somerville. Paul enjoyed bowling. He was a devoted family man. He worked hard to be a “Good Provider” to his family. Paul was devoted to his late wife Barbara who was the center of his life. He loved spending time with his children and their families whether it be a family holiday, celebration, or simple visit. Paul was the beloved husband of late Barbara (DeVenne). He was the loving father of Paul F. Anderson & his wife Brenda of Athol, Joseph W. Anderson & his wife Joanne of Wakefield, and Michael Anderson & his wife Liliane of Burlington. He was the brother of the late John and Claire Anderson. He was the grandfather of Paul, Krystel, Shannon, Joseph & Denise Anderson, Aaron & Liz Carr, and Shaina Carbone Anderson. He was the great grandfather of Seth, Skylar, Hannah, Abygail, Brook and Zachary. Dear friend of Anna Meehan of Somerville. Funeral from the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St., BURLINGTON (Exit 34 off Rt. 128, Woburn side) on Friday, Jan. 6 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Margaret’s Church, 111 Winn St., Burlington at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Thursday 5-8 p.m. Interment in Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington. .
